REPRESENT
'The Roach' and 'The Bot' winners of WSOP League

Bounties and double bounties were offered to league players who could try and knock either Dan or Eric out first or second in the final night of the WSOP Season #1 League. Both players survived by more or less auto-folding their way to earn enough points to represent Plainfield Poker at the upcoming World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Bob Jr. was the official winner of the final tournament as he and Bob Whiz chopped the first/second place. See the WSOP page for final scores and further information about the upcoming WSOP Season #2 which kicks off in mid-June.

Weekly Tournaments To Continue on normal schedule
We will continue to hold the Saturday season tournaments on the normal schedule as long as the number of players remains strong. Summer usually presents challenges when trying to run tournaments every weekend, if we start seeing a decline in the number of players attending the tournaments due to other summer activities we will switch over to bi-weekly tournaments until the summer season is over. Please remember all Plainfield Poker tournaments begin at 7:30pm with the side games starting at 4:30pm and again after the main tournament has started (once enough players have been eliminated). Also please remember to use the EVITE system for updating your status for the weekly tournaments.

Duke Captures Season #1 Championship

Everything was going Duke's way early as he doubled up just minutes into the Championship Tournament when his flopped Ace high straight turned into a Ace high flush as he spiked a diamond house flush on the river. Duke was able to ride the wave on what was a wild table one which saw numerous all-in's turn into chopped pots and even a straight flush come out on the board in another hand. 33 players who qualified by taking top three in one of the twenty five tournaments during season #1 competed for over 8,300, with a guaranteed almost third of them getting paid.
The action was fast and furious on table #1 as most of chips in play were on the table as short stacks kept getting moved in and soon busting out. The action slowed down as players inched down to the final fifteen, just five spots off the money. Short stacks could not compete against the blinds as soon the final table was set. From the first hand things stayed good for Duke as on the third hand of play on the final table Duke called Mark's all in with pocket Aces. Duke went on to knock out over half the final table as the put it on cruise control and turned a wheel on the final hand of the tournament to ensure victory in the Championship Event.
For a complete breakdown of the final table play please see the Past Season's Winners page. Also check out the Photos page for some updated pictures.

Details About Season #2 Released
We are looking forward to another exciting season at Plainfield Poker. An important part to running successful tournaments is by listening to the feedback of the players. Many of the ideas that everyone has suggested have been incorporated into the new season. One of the biggest differences with season #2 will be the 40 add-on that we will begin offering at the first break. Also to keep things exciting 5 of the 40 from all of the add-ons will be used for our new MVR ALL STAR FREEROLL. This Freeroll tournament will be offered at the end of Season #2 for the ten players with the most points in the MVR race (see the Most Valuable Rounder page for the 411 on this). Due to the creation of the add-on all rounds will now be 15 minutes in length. All tournaments will still be 100 for 4k in starting chips with an additional 5 dealer bonus for another 1k in chips. Re-buys will still be offered until the end of the first break, these will be 100 for 5k straight up (no dealer bonus on these). We will also attempt to put two Deep Stack Tournaments in the mix somewhere along the line during the season since these seem to be popular and fun tournaments to play in. We look forward to another fun season at the house that odds forgot!
